Today, we are starting the 3rd week of the Joyful Home Project. For our 3rd week we are creating what I call The Monday Zone. What is The Monday Zone?

What is the Monday Zone? I created this for me a few years ago and it has been a life saver in so many ways. I purchased the organizers and labeled them My Monday Zone. My entire family knows what this is.

My family is a family of 6 and every day we have paper coming into our life. From mail, to bills, to school papers, to notes. All in all it is a lot of paper. Therefore, I have this accordion file that is labeled and everyday if someone has something that needs to be looked at, filed, or signed - my family puts their paper, form, mail, and or bill in its appropriate file.

I don't even look at this file until Monday. I sit at my desk on Monday morning and I go through My Monday Zone Accordion File and I process all the paperwork that needs to be done. I do this on Monday instead of Sunday because I still want to have a nice Sunday. Sunday to me is still the weekend. If you would rather do this on a different day, that is totally fine. Some people like to set up their week on Sunday and do all the things, but for me once again Sunday is for relaxing. I don't want to think about my week until Monday.

Kitchen Remodel in San Jose California

Dina Marie Joy Designs is a design firm that is passionate about designing Kitchens, Baths, Vacation Homes, and Retirement Homes for New Construction and Remodels. Today we share with you a recent Kitchen Design we did in San Jose, California.

The clients are Husband and Wife whom work in the technology field in Silicon Valley. They are remodeling their home to enjoy now and in their retirement years. The Mr. is the Chef of the household and required an Industrial like Kitchen. This is a very small kitchen but we took advantage of all the space by knocking down a wall and adding a window.

An A Frame Remodel in Oakland California

The History of an A-Frame House - 

An A-frame house is an architectural house style featuring steeply-angled sides (roofline) that usually begin at or near the foundation line and meet at the top in the shape of the letter A. An A-frame ceiling can be open to the top rafters.

Although the triangle shape of the A-frame has been present throughout history, it surged in popularity around the world from roughly the mid-1950s through the 1970s. It was during the post–World War II era that the A-frame acquired its most defining characteristics.

This home was purchased over a year ago and was in terrible condition. The floors on the interior were deteriorating and the entire place had to be demoed. The after is beautiful. I mean who does not like a A-Frame Home? If you can get your hands on owning an original A-Frame Home, I highly recommend it.

This A Frame Home is located in the Oakland Hills and it just feels so peaceful when you are on the property. If feels like you are living in a Modern Day Tree House.
